AWP Committee of National Officers Re-elected at AGM

AWP Committee of National Officers Re-elected at AGM
Animal Welfare Party held an online AGM on Sunday 20th February 2022.

We reviewed our activities over the past year which included standing in the London Mayoral, London Assembly and Scottish Parliament elections and several successes for animals achieved at local level through our councillor in Alsager, Cheshire and through campaigning on issues across the UK.

The Committee of National Officers, were re-elected, as below:

Leader: Vanessa Hudson

Deputy Leader: Jane Smith

Treasurer: Louise Cobham

Nominating Officer: Jon Homan

A vote was held on the question of whether a monthly payment option for AWP Membership fees should be introduced which was unanimously accepted. AWP will now work on implementing this decision.

The meeting explored the potential activities of the party in the year ahead – a key focus being our ambition to field candidates in local elections which take place on 5th May this year. For those interested in applying to be a candidate in these elections, please note the deadline of Wednesday 23rd February for applications. More information on the elections and how to apply can be found here.

Discussion of a range of new Volunteer opportunities took place. To find our more about these, please see our vacancies page.

The Committee of National Officers thanked those present, all Members, Supporters and Donors for their incredible support over the past year.

A link to a recording of the proceedings has been shared with all AWP Members by email.
